Paradise Aftercare for Preschool - 5th grade
Hello Northside Families!
My name is Bettie Mack and I am the Director for Paradise Camp and Aftercare. This is my 9th year here at NCS. I taught 5 years in the preschool prior to becoming the Director of Aftercare and Summer Camp. Prior to that I coordinated a mentor program with Pinellas County Schools and worked with special needs children and families.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our two sons and new baby girl, creating adventures and lasting memories. I have over a decade of experience working with children and LOVE Serving here at Northside!
The plan for Aftercare has three main ideas:
The goal is to nurture and guide children through a comfortable transition.
🌴 Homework is completed directly after a snack and play break.
The goal is to give parents more evening family time with homework already completed.
🌴 Fun, themed, play time for laughter and learning:
The goal is to allow children to just BE happy being children.
The staff in Aftercare truly put the CARE in Aftercare! We have monthly themes planned for each of our groups. Within these themes are fun daily activities that could include crafts, devotions, electronics and hands on activities. Our groups are categorized by grade level, with a staff-to-child ratio of 1:15 for K-5 and 1:10 for preschool. All our staff members are certified in CPR and First Aid. We have professional development days where we collaborate with outside sources to learn, build and enrich our skills as Aftercare teachers.

2024-25 Aftercare Rates for Preschool-5th grade:
- ALL students must be registered through CampBrain and paid through SMART.
- All students NOT ENROLLED in aftercare must be picked up through the carline by 3:15 pm.
- Students are not permitted to wander the campus or wait in undesignated areas unsupervised.
Hours of Operation:
- 2:45pm – 5:30pm on all regular days of school for Preschool - 5th grades.
- Staff is onsite until 6:00pm
- 11:45am - 5:30pm on half days of school for Full-time Aftercare students only.

$280 a month per child (August - May).

We offer a discounted sibling rate of $200 a month per sibling.

Payments are based on total weeks in the school year.

Full-time Aftercare gives parents full access to Aftercare, so anytime the doors are open, your child is welcome to attend. We do not offer a drop in rate.

Any student picked up after 6:00 pm will be charged $20 every 1 - 15 minutes late.

Fees are NOT prorated and are non-refundable.

Aftercare fees will be billed monthly through SMART with your regular tuition payment.
